11:11 Tuesdays by Vaishali Wagle November 3, 2026 Happy 11:11 Tuesdays Reader, Here are 1 Thought, 1 Quote, 1 Word and 1 Humour for you to reflect upon this week. 1.ThoughtAt some point, even your cupboards have had enough of your perfectionism. Diwali cleaning has a pattern. The first hour is productive. You clear the clutter, find things you forgot you owned, and feel wonderfully accomplished. Three hours later, you’re reorganising a drawer that nobody has opened since Diwali last year. And by evening, you’re wondering whether that perfectly arranged spice rack has changed anyone’s life. The intention is excellence. The outcome may be diminishing returns—and time taken away from something that actually needs your attention. The question isn’t whether you can make something better. It’s whether making it that little bit better is worth what it costs elsewhere. Where are you investing disproportionate effort in improving something that is already good enough? Thought Sometimes, the solution creates a bigger problem. The Cobra Effect derives its name from a fiction story during British rule in India, where the government offered a financial bounty for every dead cobra to lower the snake population. Locals began breeding cobras to collect the reward. When the government canceled the...

Thought The three KPIs you missed can overshadow the seven you delivered. A team member achieves seven out of ten goals. The seven wins become background. The three misses become the main story. That's Zeigarnik Effect, which suggests that unfinished tasks tend to hold our attention more strongly than completed ones. In...

The problem isn’t measurement. Leaders need metrics. The problem begins when the metric becomes the mission. Because people are remarkably good at delivering...
