11:11 Tuesdays by Vaishali Wagle March 17, 2026 Happy 11:11 Tuesdays Reader, Here are 1 Thought, 1 Quote, 1 Word and 1 Humour for you to reflect upon this week. 1.ThoughtMany CXOs struggle not with politics, but with pretending they are above it. In my book Scaling Peaks, there is a chapter on the lies and truth of corporate life, where I have shared why 'Politics is bad' is a lie. Distancing yourself from politics only makes you lose your place at the decision table, it does not stop politics. The fact is politics is part of any governance. It’s the prevalence of bad governance which has branded politics as bad. Most have seen politics as one of these experiences - a group coming together to support a person, or someone getting ahead because they have worked on winning the network, or you losing out because you did not get the votes, or you not feeling included in the inner circle. If this is your experience of politics, then this is called collaboration, sponsorship, networking, PR, and branding – all critical aspects of leadership. Few experience politics as - spreading rumours, misuse of power, unfair treatment, withholding information, or deliberately sabotaging someone's standing. That is not politics but bad organisational governance and poor culture. Ignoring power dynamics doesn’t make you principled; it makes you predictable. What conversation are you avoiding in the name of ‘staying above politics’? 1.Quote“If you do not understand politics, you do not understand leadership.” — John Kotter 1.WordQuixotic [quick-xo-tick] (adj.) extremely idealistic; unrealistic and impractical 1.HumourIf you liked this and want to share this issue of 11:11 Tuesdays with your friends and colleagues, just send them this link: https://zenesse.kit.com/posts/20260317 Warmly, Vaishali WagleAuthor, Coach, Speaker Zenesse (n.) Thought Entrepreneurial leadership inside organisations needs you to break free from one trap. - the trap keeps people stuck and waiting. It's called the permission trap. Thought Promotion anxiety doesn’t end when you reach the top designation. It just changes direction. The question shifts from How will I move up? to How will I retain my position? Thought Procrastination among high performers or during high stakes often stems from fear of consequence, and not due to laziness. When risks rise, delay feels safer than decisiveness. What outcome are you unconsciously postponing taking ownership of? #LeadershipCoaching 1. Quote “Delay is the deadliest form of denial.” — C....
