Our voice isnβt just what we say. β Owning our voice isnβt about volume or veracity, itβs about alignment. I've always found it easier to influence when I had done the grind work and believed in it's truth, and conversely I became less and less convincing when I felt I had to sell. Recently, I new pattern came to my attention - lesser the words, more the influence. When someone needs to speak endlessly, they diminish the value of their words. Surprisingly, this is true in both board rooms and living rooms. Itβs also what we no longer stay silent about. During a coaching session with a client who was feeling invisible at global meetings, I asked - where in your work are you whispering when you should be voicing? It made him jolt out of his self-imposed restraining behaviour. In our world full of tall claims and small deeds, the most powerful presence is one that owns their voice. β
